April Highlights @ ALICANA

First the students discussed the meaning of “slang” and they tried to name some Argentinian slang expressions. Then they received a copy with some examples and decided whether they were American or British. Each expression had three possible meanings and they had to guess which option was correct. To check the exercise, they watched a video; a short extract of the Ellen DeGeneres’ Show. During an interview with the British actor Hugh Lurie they played a game that was to guess the meaning of American and British slang. After watching the video two or three times, the students checked the answers.
The students really enjoyed learning about American and British slang, and they were surprised about the differences not only between American and British culture but also with Argentinian culture.
